Basement of the Dead Haunted House in downtown Aurora, IL delivers a spine-chilling underground experience born from local lore and decades of terrifying craftsmanship.
The Legend of the Basement - Deep beneath the historic brick walls at 42 W. New York St, the air grows heavy and damp. Local legend traces the haunt's dark roots back to a fateful 1964 boiler explosion at the old Walker Laundry building. Maintenance engineers Al and Imus Kilya were horribly maimed in the blast, and rumor says the pain warped their minds, turning the subterranean corridors into a twisted domain of vengeance. If surviving the wrath of Al and Imus isn't enough, visitors must also face Shattered 3D, the surreal domain of a disgraced circus clown. After a fatal sledgehammer trick went wrong, Shattered vanished into the depths, returning with a blacklit, multi-dimensional nightmare of optical illusions, ultraviolet lights, and deranged performers.
